Distribution Strategy

Since its inception, Willowdale Community Christian Assembly (the main sponsor of the Love Philippines initiative) has been involved in a number of disaster relief efforts and mission aids. Our experiences in other relief efforts, such as the Tsunami tragedy in Indonesia and Sri Lanka, have taught us how we can be more efficient in delivering aid and relief to the intended recipients, thus maximising the money contributed through our organization.

We believe the best way to distribute the money raised in this project is not to pass the money to organizations that have high administrative charges. What we are proposing is to work on ground zero with volunteers from local churches and charitable organizations. That way we can identify ourselves in areas that have the needs and where we can be most effective.

NOT TO RUSH: Another great lesson we learned from the Tsunami relief effort is not to rush money into the area. This is due to the chaotic nature in the affected area at the present moment. Most of the money would be at best sitting there doing nothing, or at worse fall through the cracks and be lost. We will like "the dust to settle" a bit before going into the effected areas and identify the needs.

Our team is currently investigating the various potential partners in the Philippines that could help us fulfill our mission. As soon as we identify the groups we will post them on this website. Please note that none of the money raised here will go to pay staff salary. All involved in this endeavor will be volunteers.
